Stem Cell Patient

I had stem cell transplant for Multiple Myeloma in
April 2023 under the care of Dr. Yalamanchili with
support of the clinical teams. This whole process
hasn’t been easy, but more than anyone the
nurses have made me feel heard and supported
by answering all my questions on what to expect
before, during, and after the stem cell transplant.
Kristi Satterfield, the transplant coordinator has
been my greatest champion.

Palliative Medicine Patient

 This is my third bout with breast cancer- this time it
has metastasized to my bones. JACC and Dr. Tafur
have been my constant for all my cancer treatments.
They always cared for me as a person. With this
most recent diagnosis I have met Allison Blanco,
Nurse Practitioner in the JACC Outpatient Palliative
Medicine clinic. Her kindness during the darkest of
times has been wonderful. I thank JACC for keeping
me going all these years.

interacted with the most thorough and compassionate
teams. Dr. Yalamanchili has always been very caring
and listens. Dina Smith, Lung Navigator has walked
me through every aspect of treatment. We are

Gamma Knife Patient

Everyone at JACC has been wonderful! It starts
from the moment you walk in the door! I have been
battling Lung Cancer, and part of my treatment was
the Gamma Knife procedure. Dr. Scranton, Dr. Jenkins,
and the clinical teams were amazing. I have had no
side eects and have been treated very well.

Leukemia has become the biggest battle for our
family. Ariadne has been so tough during the process
of treatment. Dr. Bhende and the Pediatric Oncology
Clinic have been outstanding with our girl. Everyone
on her team works so great together and encourages
us every day of this journey.

While being treated for breast cancer with
Dr. Axelrud, I never felt alone, starting with Isabel
Valdez’ welcoming smile that lifts me up. I also thank
God for Linda Harkey in Social Services. Without
JACC’s patient shuttle and transporters, I don’t know
how I would have gotten to and from my treatments.

Pediatric Oncology Patients

Ciara – After my Hodgkin’s Lymphoma diagnosis, the
Pediatric Oncology Clinic took me in as one of their
own. They cared for me and made me feel loved –
especially Bianca, my “Hospital Mom!”

Klarissa – On a scale of 1 to 1000, I would give the
Pediatric Oncology Clinic… 1000! I tell everyone that I
would never dream of going anywhere else.

Genomics Patient

I’m not sure I would still be here without Dr. Shalaby
and his amazing team. Metastatic Colorectal Cancer
has been a battle but using genomic testing has
changed the game. The genomic tests performed at
the Providence Genomics Lab determines how to best
treat each individual patient. JACC is cutting edge
with all the advances in treatment. It gives me
goose bumps!
